Title: Defeated wife who can't continue this life the way it is

My husband has diagnosed mild depression, anger/control/negative issues that have destroyed our 30+ yr marriage and family. He is in denial to the public about his behavior, but to us he is an angry, quick to temper, controlling/negative person. In looking back, signs were there when we dated, but I TRULY did not understand them, but it felt "off" at times. He can be so fun, outgoing, nice, but can turn explosive quickly when he does not get his way or something goes wrong. I can say something wrong, such as "What are you going to do with that" and he will blow, abandon us for a couple days. He did have a breakdown yrs ago, but blamed it on everything else. He was a workaholic. Recently lost job after 30+ years with no explanation, but probably not due to the above, as he tried to hide this behavior. This destroyed him even more. He truly worked hard for us, but employers are letting people go in 50's. He hides his behavior from others,but people sense it or see the signs. He is selfish, but non-materialistic. He is jealous of other successful men. He is secretive and does not tell family/others of ANY problem he has. He keeps info from me, sometimes lies when he golfs, goes to have drinks with others. He disrespects anything I buy for him and never uses them. No communication with me, only with the guys on guy topics. I stay home, but he does wish I worked like "all other wives". My life/marriage has been ruined, I've prayed daily for years for him/us to no avail. I can't take it any longer, but I am scared of divorce and what the bible says that I should not remarry as it is adultery. I am so unhappy, fearfull at times and so are my children. He has lost all of our respect. He is like a light bulb, on and off. He will not go to counseling, but is on meds, but his Dr. does not realize the significance of his actions because he would never tell him because it would make him look really bad. I have counseled many times, not a lot of solid advise, but comments like "I feel sorry for you, you are such a nice person". He has a couple family members that have similar personalities. Never talks of childhood, but I think dad was a yeller, negative and expected hard work with no love. Once told me he does not know how to love. I am devastated that my whole marriage has been in turmoil, I envy happy couples, I feel it is so out of my control. But, I can't love him the way he treats me, it feels wrong. I want to leave, peacefully, and have a happy life. I dream of the person he could be, should be, but it is not happening. I am afraid I will have to get a job in my 50's, but mostly that I will be alone forever. I put too much thought into working hard and then enjoying the fantasy life of love in retirement, thinking he would FINALLY become an amazing husband...I wanted the miracle, but I do not think it will happen. He has SO much potential to be better. I fear if I leave him he may take his life, because he has attempted this when he had his breakdown. To me, this is SERIOUS! How could any of us cope with that. I am a very traditional, christian person that according to my husband, is NO fun. I am straight-laced, nice, quiet, etc. We are opposites. I have the college education & am organized. I do ALL finances. If I died, he could not get through our investments, even though they are extremely organized, but he wanted all of this. I could be so happy being a stay-at-home wife and mother, if I had a husband who respected that & all that I do. I have a nice home, but 20+ year furniture, so he thinks that is good enough. We rarely travel together because he has the potential to explode over nothing, like a wrong direction. He would never do this with other people, but instead would laugh and make it into a joke. I do not understand him, he seems to truly have mild depression brought on by stress, etc., but he seems to be more of a controlling/manipulative husband by choice.What am I to do according to God? The advise you give me may be my final decision, either stay or leave. If I stay, then what do I do to be happy and avoid his anger?

Title: Need Healing Miracle

Our seven-year-old great-nephew, Adam, had a softball-sized tumor removed two weeks ago, and they found out yesterday that the tumor is malignant. The surgeons weren't able to get all of it due to its proximity to his spine, and it appears to be a very fast growing, spindle cell carcinoma, so Adam will begin a rigorous course of chemotherapy soon.
Please pray for healing for Adam, strength and peace for his parents and family, and wisdom for the medical team.

Title: Spiritual Growth/God's Will

Long story fairly short:

I've been inspired greatly by a speaker who visited our church last week and I've finally, after God working hard on me over the last few months, gotten back into a real relationship with Jesus.

The speaker spoke on his experience with missions in the Dominican Republic, that really interested me for some reason and I cannot stop thinking about it in general.
So to sum it up, I'd like prayers for my personal spiritual growth, I've only gotten back into it with God a week ago and I'm still getting used to being in love with him again and having him apply to every second of my every day. I want him to be a part of my every breath but at this point it's difficult for me to have that happen.
I'd also like prayers for where God may be leading me with the whole missions thing because I honestly have no idea and it's all happening so fast. I don't know what to think at this point. It's hard for me to decipher what's God and what are random thoughts in my head or if they are one in the same. If it really is what God wants me to do than I'm going to need some clear signs or doors opening in that direction because I'm very lost on it all, I just know it keeps popping into my head.
Thank you all so much, it would mean a great deal if you would pray for me. I'm so excited to be falling back in love with God. It's been so long and I've now realized how much I missed him and how much time I've wasted. God is good!

My 25 yr old son has been having trouble finding work, keeps moving from town to town without direction. He said he has recently become a Christian. I don't believe he attends church, and sometimes makes comments that make me think he is working on his will more than seeking God's sometimes. He needs a male mentor to help guide him and help him make better choices. He is moving back to this area and while I am certain his desire was to move back in with me, this is just not an option due to his history of drug/alcohol use and his verbal abuse towards me. We recently moved to Omaha from Texas. We recently lost our house to foreclosure. My husband had been out of work for several months. We moved here because he got a job here. We left one adult daughter behind in Texas who is getting married this summer. She is a Christian and has a good bunch of Christian friends to rely on. Pray we can pay for her wedding as we are helping to support her until the wedding. We left an adult son in Texas who really needs to find God and get his life together. We have an adult daughter who is living with us here She graduated from nursing school last May and was supposed to go on a mission trip to Africa, but could not get the necessary funding. She worked at a Christian Camp until moving here with us. We are paying on her loans, as she is not working. We truly believe she is to be a nurse and just do not understand why she cannot find a graduate nursing position. Our other daughter is married and her husband is a police officer. They moved to New Mexico with our granddaughter. I had been watching our grand daughter, until they moved. Mom was working and in school. She wants to be a nurse. Please pray for all of us. We are not used to living apart. Our finances are strapped. We have attend many churches, but could not seem to find the right fit although we think we have found one. Pray for our finances, jobs, and loneliness. Thanks

Title: alcoholism continues to wear on us both

Please pray for my husband who struggles daily with alcoholism. He has been pretending he can drink sometimes during the last year and it caught up with him this weekend as he spent too much time in a casino - drinking and losing money we didn't have. He doesn't talk much about his disease, so it's hard to say much to him - praise or otherwise - because he cuts me off and says he doesn't want to talk about it. He sees a peace in me and I have always told him why, but he hasn't taken that step to get it for himself. Pray that he sees that the Jesus is the only way for true peace. He says he has faith, but I don't think he really understands the peace that passes all understanding. Pray for me as I keep trying to tell him this and be the example he needs to see. I'm getting very tired, drained and less hopeful after years of this.

Title: About to lose everything

Please pray that me and my wife do not have to be evicted from our apartment. We only have until the end of February to pay rent and fees before we will be homeless. If we do get evicted, there is more than a thousand in apartment fees plus court fees. We have called almost every church and the state, but all of them they can't at this time and this is the time we need it. We just found out that my wife is pregnant. We also have two dogs that are very dear to us that we would lose. My boss keeps extending my start date later and later. He finally said I might not be able to work for him due to experience. I cannot apply for another job, because my car broke down. My boss will get me transportation to my job if I can start. We absolutely need the income, as we only have literally one penny in our bank account. Please pray that I can start as soon as possible and in God's timing. Also, that God will provide rent. Title: Steve is picking up his/our things today

Please pray for us! My husband Steve is coming to pick up more of his/our belongings today. It is so wrong. He has sought to divide our marriage for a long time and I so want to be working towards oneness. His heart is hardened. I know that healing for this marriage is possible if God desires. So many of our friends have told me that they seen me do everything I can to make this work and this is about Steve and his issues. Please pray that he would be broken for the continual lies, justifications, threats to leave and leaving, and especially for the wounds he carries from his past that keep playing out. Please also pray that if it is God's desire to allow Steve to move his things today, that God would safeguard me and that he would soften Steve's heart enough today so that Steve would not take anymore than what he absolutely needs. I tend to become a wilting flower and feel overpowered by Steve. I need God to take over for me. I don't want to walk the path to divorce.

My adult son has had great struggles with mental health issues. He has high anxiety and sometimes says he sees "scary things" that he knows aren't real, but seem very real at the time .He has not been able to sleep well for a long time, which creates more stress and anxiety. He has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, but has been sober for 5mths. He is under mental health care, but sometimes it seems they are not as engaged as we hoped they would be . He is a great guy, just has made some poor choices and is now struggling to correct them. He has recently started back to school, is beginning to read the bible and started attending church with me. I ask for prayers for hope, direction, good medical care, and that he turns his life over to the will of God to get some peace. Thank you .

I have a friend who is a former children's minister. He divorced awhile back and has been having serious depression problems. This morning his Facebook post indicated he is considering suicide. Title: prayer for my husband

Please rally prayers for my husband and our marriage. My husband has been verbally abusive, he lies and is just no longer trying (at least not very much) in our marriage. He got mad and walked out of our joint counseling last week. Why do I want this you ask? I'm not sure, I guess it's because I believe and know that nothing is impossible with God. For some reason I'm in such a time as this. I have grown personally so much through this,from thinking everything was my fault and now seeing that my husband carryes woundedness from his background that is overshadowing his life.. My own counselor sees no hope, our pastor has given me little, our joint counselor has talked about trying to talk to my husband about how to be a husband, but I know that won't do any good unless my husband's heart is broken and he is truly repentant.. I know, know, my husband has free will.but he even says he doesn't want to be the way he is, yet refuses to dig into his stuff and only justifies his lies and deceptions. Please pray for him and for me that I would have wisdom and strength to do whatever God wants me to do. I don't want a separation or divorce, but I can't take the lying, sarcasm, and the disrespect ,.This has gone on for years but I always thought it was me until the past few years. My husband is a believer but isn't living out his faith. He uses the words but not the the actions in our familty.. Thanks.

Title: Domestic Violence

2 1/2 weeks ago my little sister called me screaming and crying so loud and hard I could hardly understand her, at a little after 3 am. I went to her place right away to make sure she was okay, and what I found out is that her and her boyfriend had gotten into a fight. During that fight he pushed her up against a wall, she was slapping and pushing him back, to which he responded by grabbing her and slamming her and her head against the wall. She is also 20 weeks pregnant with his child, and her other son was home during this as well. I informed her that I MUST call the cops and she insisted that I didn't. However, I knew that I must for various reasons. As soon as I dialed 911 she went from crying and sobbing to yelling and screaming at me. There were so many obscenities and hurtful things in her words toward me, and she has since shut me out of her life. It has been rough and I have even gone to the doctor as I was having nightmares over this ordeal. I fear for her and her little boy and unborn child as well. It hurts to be so close to her (she lives here in Omaha) yet she refuses to allow me in now. All I can do is pray that she is safe and that she realizes that the relationship she shares with him is not healthy and that she needs to protect herself and her son and unborn son as well. Please pray that she is safe and can find the courage and strength to walk away and get help for her and her children.

I am 35 years old and am married with two teenage children. In April of this year, I was let go by a job that I had had for 5 years. I found a new job and was laid off. I am really struggling with what I should do. I am angry at God for letting this happen. I am really trying to get past this but everytime I feel that something is going right, two other things go wrong. Please pray that God would open the door that I am supposed to walk through and heal my heart because I want to be happy again.

Title: a freind

I work with a guy, he is my manager. He served in Iraq in 04 and 05 he has been having health problems for the last month and a half. I am not sure when he found out but he told me about it on sunday. He has HIV that he got from Iraq. His wife left him, he told his family and they don't want nothing to do with him. The doctors said he has about 3 month to live. He is about 30 years old and does not deserve this he is a good kid. I am 50 so that is why I call him a kid. Would you please lift him up in prayer and could you please get it to as many poeple as possible. I am hoping that the lord will help him, and heal him. He said that he probably got it from handling all the dead bodies, whitch I found desturbing. But I have never been in that kind of enviroment. I put my email in the name because I would like to hear from poeple who are praying for him.

I see so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ and in the world struggling to make ends meet...only to find themselves borrowing from one area to meet the needs in another area and never quite making due. Unemployment, generational poverty. Lord we need you to be with our Mayors, Councilmen, Governors, those in the House and Senate who represent their states, our President, the candidates waiting to serve. I just ask Lord that you give them YOUR wisdom, soften their hearts to YOUR will. My 25 yr old son has had difficulty in finding jobs, then when he does, he quits them because they are too ''stressful". He goes from friend to friend, living off people until they tire of it and send him on his way. Title: Need prayers for my son

My son has had a long battle with alcoholism/drug use. For the past several months he has been clean, has had a great job, his own place, and seemed to be doing better. On Labor Day he was arrested for DUI again, and is at risk for losing everything...again. It seems as though he continues to sabatoge himself once things are going well for him. He is a great guy...just makes bad decisions sometimes. I also pray for strength for me to keep my focus on God and not on my son's problems. I want to support him in prayer, and let him know that I love him but also that God wants so much more for him. Sometimes I want to do too much for him and I need to be reminded that enabling him can only be a roadblock in what God wants to do in his life. Title: Friend and family

Open the door for a friend in my apartment building to be able to get a car before she goes back to work. She is just getting back on her feet and needs to work she has a baby and older daughter. I have been helping her but she wants not to have to ask all the time for a rides. Help others to give her rides with needed like family. Open the door for someone at church or her baby's father to help her out with getting a car. Let the spirit lead someone to help her out as she is trying to make her life better and as well follow God.
Open the door for my son and daughter to understand why I have given rides to my friend that she is trying to get her life together. Soften their hearts for God to follow him one day.
Guide both my son and daughter in their lives and help them to make the right decision in life. Help my daughter as she turns 21 in a few months not to be so interested in or excited about drinking.

Title: Forgiveness, Compassion, Healing, & Resolution

I'm asking for prayers to help my family through a time of difficult trials. I had broke work policy and in time of weakness had also done some other sinful deeds at work. This caused me to leave my employment. Having challenges finding some employment kept the family in worry and distress.
There was also the possibility of legal action but it had been delayed, and we assumed that maybe things had been resolved or forgiven by those what were affected by my sinful actions. But now legal action will procede and my family is again suffering due to my selfish mistakes.
I ask for prayers to support my family thoughout whatever trials may be coming. Plus, to keep their belief in God's support for us during this time. I also ask for prayers of forgiveness and mercy for my sinful mistakes which have now harmed my innocent family. Please ask for understanding, compassion, forgiveness, healing, & mercy from those others who were affected by my actions.
I pray daily to confess my transgressions as a sinner ,& to ask for redemption, and forgiveness for my offenses. Thanks be to God for being a loving, caring, and forgiving Father. / Amen.

Title: Grief

Some family friends had a baby in 2010, but he passed away when he was 7 months old. He had no health issues at all - it was a freak thing. The couple had a baby girl in 2011, and she had Pulmonary Vein Stenosis. She had several surgeries and was almost always in the hospital. She passed away in July, and she is missed so, so much. Prayers please for a grieving mother and father that have borne too much grief. Thank you.

Title: Clarity on job search

I was laid off in March 2011 & GOD has provided me w/ several temp jobs. Recently was offered a position in my field. The pay is less than I'm worth, it's 30 mi round trip, hours are not great, benefits are minimal. B4 & after my 6 mo post cancer Dr visit on Mon I have 2 other interviews. All are in diff fields that I'm qualified to do & not competing firms. Do I stay at my temp job (40 mi round trip, boring, good pay, not in my field)? Do I take the offer? Do I urge the new interviewers to make decision quickly on my behalf? When it rains it pours out GOD's riches blessing. Be careful what you pray for. GOD is in control. Need clarity, patience. What are your plans for me GOD? I want to listen to you & do you will in my life.

My prayer request is for my niece and her boyfriend. He was in a car accident 2 days ago and was critically injured. Title: Backsliding/marital

After 24 yrs of what i thought was a good, solid marriage--my husband has just informed me that he wants a divorce. Said he went into this marriage with the intention of getting out when he wanted, but we started having kids, so he stuck around? So basically it's been a lie? He was also at one time, a very very strong man of God! Integrity & character were his strong points, which made him the perfect Deacon at our church!. His heart was so tender to people and their needs, but now he's saying he just wants to do what he wants to do--without answering to people or feeling bad about stopping for a beer (he gave up drinking 20 yrs ago when we started attending church) Has turned into someone i do not know. I've been a stay at home mom all these yrs--and i'm scared! It's very scary to lose not only your dream of growing old with your spouse--especially at this time in your lives when kids are older and it's OUR time--grandkids--traveling etc. but to try to figure out how in the world you're going to survive financially! I've been trusting God for months now--as he hasn't moved out yet or asked me to leave, but i can sense his distance--roommate actions more or less! I need a miracle healing in this marriage, but most importantly, in his heart! He needs to return to the Lord 100%! Once that's in the right order, i know God will restore things--but his heart is hard right now, and in these last days, that's a scary place to live! Thank you for your prayers!!

For healing and guidance and ??? My step-daughter is thinking about moving out of our home into her dad's. She wants to change scholls midway through her high school career from a Christian scholl to a public school wher she knows noone. She has always been in Christian education. her dad's home will offer no structure or rules, she thinks she has it all figured out, but has never heard he mom's side of the divorce. The domestic abuse, harassment, assault control and manipulation. She has heard her dad bad mouth my wife for years and years. Title: Prayer Request for a Family in Mourning

I just wanted to ask that you keep a family in prayer right now. We have been close to this family for a long time, and their son committed suicide yesterday. They are a couple who, besides my parents, showed me how much God loves me and weren't afraid to talk about it. They have a strong faith, but this will be very hard on them, as anyone would imagine. They also have 2 biological children who will be coming back to town so they can be together as a family.

Title: Tornado and Flood help

My husband Roger is needing prayers because he is volunteering his time and skills to work on houses in Bartlett, Thurman, Percival, IA, and he is feeling overwhelmed. These areas that were either hit with the flood from last year or the tornado in April of this year. Roger is a VIM, Volunteer In Mission, with the United Methodist Church of Falls City, NE. He was suppose to have a group help him work on a house this week but they canceled due to the heat. He wants to put a call out there for framers, electricians, plumbers, dry wallers, painters, and anybody else who has a trade that would be willing to donate their services to help these displaced families get back into their homes. Hello, I have several needs of prayers from the many devoted listeners at KGBI. My oldest son is in need of a car and spiritual healing from a painful upbringing.
I am in need of a job back in Lincoln NE as I have been commuting back and forth to another state just to keep employed.
My kids that are still home need prayers for this time away from dad has been hard. I talked to my daughter tonight and she just broke down crying and wanting dad to come home now.
My wife is also in need of prayers; had a rough upbringing as well and makes it hard to be intimate and show her true feelings.

Title: Employment options

I have a job right now, but the hours are late and don't allow me time with my 11 and 14 year old daughters or my husband. Title: daughter, demonic oppression, deliverance

My daughter has a serious disease diagnosed at a major hospital, the doctors there say they can't find the underlying cause. She has had it for more than 10 years and this past year when a pastor at a deliverance ministry prayed, the symptoms began to improve. She went again to a deliverance ministry and some huge symptoms changed for the better. I can hardly believe it! But the demonic oppression continues. Please pray for her spiritual protection, she suffers from this horrible dark sensation that only goes away when I pray that in the authority of Christ I command the demons to leave. She's a younger believer.

Title: Parkinsons

My daughter who is in her 40's was just diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I ask that you pray for her to be able to accept the diagnosis and to try and learn as much as she can about it. Right now she is in denial. She has two little girls and a new job, so she has a lot of stress on her right now.

Our son was laid off his job due to an allergy reaction he had. He had a car stolen from him also recently.

I would like prayers to go out to my family who are going thru a very difficult time. My husband and I have had some real bad struggles with our relationship. My husband has to decided to move out and take our daughter with giving up on this marriage, I want to still fight, but we both don't seem to be on the same fight. I pray that I can have the strength to keep us together, I pray that my husband doesn't give up on this family, I pray that the Lord lay his hands in this home and surround us with his Angels and cast this spirit of forgiveness, hate, and betrayal out of this home and of our hearts. Title: Son Struggling

Please pray for my son, who has been dealing with mental health issues/alcoholism/drug addiction for years and experiencing what he describes as demonic manifestations at times. He is not able to settle down and sleep more than 2-3hrs at night. He is full of anxiety.He is truly seeking spirituality and has so many questions about God/faith. He needs men of God who can mentor him and help him pray through this. My son truly has a good heart and has just lost his way. He definately needs a breakthrough.

Title: job and career and a friend who needs home

Our son just got let go from his job, he had an allergic reaction and was ill, so they decided to let him go. He hadnt been sick before either. He needs stable work, and career or vocational direction. Thank you.
Another friend needs a new place to live, preferrabley allergy friendly. She is on the couch of a family member living temporarily, they dont have enough rooms for her. She was kicked out by her family in a disgreement before that. They are reconciling but she still needs a home. Thank you.

Title: Huge diversion

Please pray for my family as we mourn the loss of father/husband. I also ask for wisdom for myself in what is God's will for me in caring for my mother. My brothers are giving me opposite choices (stay with my family here or move down and care for Mom). Either one will be hard to deal with. I was not there when Dad died and feel strongly that I should be with Mom and walk with her as she enters that last part of her life, for however long it takes for her to go home to God.
I have already given notice to my job and am prepared to move down for the duration and leave my hubby, family and grandkids here. My brothers hope that Mom will want to move here with us, but she has to be open to that possibility and right now she's mourning the loss of her life time partner and love....
I just need God's wisdom. (Why is it so hard to hear God's will when you are in the center of the storm).

Please pray for my 16 year old daughter Nicole. She has some friends who are not the best influence for her. She has gotten into drinking and smoking weed and sex (she says only one time). After reading thorough so many prayer requests I feel so selfish asking for prayers for myself and family. I have not lost a loved one or dealing with other struggles that some of these listeners are going through. I will pray for each and every one of them. However my family and I need Gods wisdom, guidance, we all need help in our relationships and finacial help. I give everything to God and pray for his guidance and wisdom in every aspect of my life and my families life.
